How to Secure Your Account on the Platform?

To protect and secure your system, it is recommended that you periodically perform a full security scan on your computer. We suggest the following methods:

  1. When browsing on our platform or logging in to your account, use Security Mode or incognito/private tab without any browser plug-ins and extensions. For Chrome, use the new incognito window shortcut:

Ctrl+Shift+N. For Firefox, use the new private window shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+P.

  1. Double or even triple-check the withdrawal/deposit address that you're using on your Protocol account. Always save a valid withdrawal/deposit address in a secure location, such as a notepad, and copy/paste it to the browser from there. Finally, verify the consistency of the address between the one in the notepad and the one you pasted in the browser window.

If you find any inconsistencies between addresses, it's possible that your computer or mobile phone has been infected by a Trojan or virus. Here are some helpful suggestions:

  • Install anti-virus software to scan/kill Trojans and viruses as soon as possible.

  • Disable plug-ins/extensions in the browser and uninstall unknown software from your computer.

  • In extreme situations, you might need to format the disk and reinstall the OS on the computer to get rid of viruses.

  • Seek help from information security experts.

By following these recommendations, you can enhance the security of your Protocol account and protect your computer and personal information.
